Easter music - singers needed!
Local composer Patrick Brandon is planning a performance of his “Easter Music” on Saturday April 18th. It consists of 11 songs several of which ideally involve children, some instrumental pieces, and a number of readings (mostly from the Bible). It tells the whole Easter story – the death and resurrection of Jesus, its historical background, and its present and future implications. There will be 11 rehearsals, on Saturdays from 2.00 to 3.30 pm, in the Baptist Church, Little Knowle, beginning on Saturday January 25th. Its first performance some 30 years ago involved 250 people – a children’s choir, an adult choir, percussion group, recorders, a very mixed orchestra and a band. It could be performed by far fewer, but it would be really wonderful if we could gather a significant number of performers of all ages!
Anyone wishing to know more, or to take part, whether singing or reading (or both), is invited to contact Patrick Brandon by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. For the sake of planning it is essential that we know how many wish to take part as soon as possible please! [This event is being supported by the Budleigh Salterton and District Churches Partnership]
