From Exe to Axe - performance in aid of St Peter's school
Sea Garden at 7 Cliff Terrace are hosting the performance of a new play by Budleigh’s very own playwright, producer and director, Steve Andrews – From Exe to Axe. It has been specially written by Steve as part of the celebrations for the 400th anniversary of the execution of Sir Walter Raleigh and dramatises the life of one of the most remarkable characters of the Elizabethan era, from his birth in East Budleigh through to his imprisonment and execution in the Tower of London.
Steve and his company of professional actors will be putting on 4 performances locally – see the attached poster for the full listing. Our performance will take place in the Sea Garden at 7 Cliff Terrace on Saturday 25 August 2018, starting at 6pm. This is the Saturday of the Bank Holiday weekend so, if you have family or friends staying with you, they would be very welcome too. Tickets are available for £10 each. This is the only performance where the profits will be donated to charity – they will go towards the campaign for a new school library at St. Peter’s School in Budleigh. You will need to bring your own chairs and food; soft drinks, beer and wine will be available for a donation. Please note that the Public Hall has been reserved just in case the weather lets us down, so ‘the show will go on’ whatever the weather.
We do hope you are able to come along to enjoy the play and support this worthy cause. If you would like tickets, please either send us a cheque or drop by with one or, alternatively, email either of us and we can work out the best way of getting tickets to you.
