Oak - 6
Miss Back – Year 6
I would like to thank everyone who donated to our Just Giving page over Christmas – we raised an enormous £130 towards Alzheimer’s research! Many, many thanks.
Please could all children have trainers in every day so we can take part in a daily 5 minute run to help build stamina and fitness.
Swimming – No swimming for Year 6 this term
PE – Thursday afternoon
The curriculum for this term
This term, our topic is life in the Mesozoic era. During this unit, we will learn about dinosaurs, evolution, changes across the planet including climate and tectonic plates. This will lead towards some non fiction writing and a puppet show made in DT in which the children will read their writing in a David Attenborough style – look out for videos on here at the end of the half term!
Current home-learning expectations
Reading – 35 minutes per day (please record in the reading logs as these will be checked weekly.
The children are very interested in their dinosaur topic. If they would like to do some research at home and bring it in to share we would love to see it. This could be in any form – fact files, drawings, slides – however they choose to present their learning would be appreciated by us all to help us learn more!
